ED arrests Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam in ₹35 crore cash recovery case
After a stellar opening at ₹57.43 crore, Shah Rukh Khan's latest film, "Dunki," continued its impressive run on day 2, grossing an additional ₹45.10 crore worldwide. Released on December 21, the film, co-starring Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, has now crossed the ₹100 crore mark globally in just two days, according to film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan. "Dunki" explores the theme of illegal immigration and follows individuals risking their lives to move abroad.
Jointly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Rajkumar Hirani, "Dunki" has garnered attention for its unique take on the challenges of migration. The film, written by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijat Joshi, and Kanika Dhillon, showcases Shah Rukh Khan in a different light, offering a refreshing contrast to his earlier action-packed films, "Pathaan" and "Jawan."
Shah Rukh Khan, during a recent interview at the Red Sea International Film Festival, revealed that "Dunki" translates to "donkey" in English, emphasizing the film's narrative about people longing to return home.
